Collaborative Efforts In Improving Road Safety

APU Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS)
 
Leveraging on our strength in technology & innovation, we’ve recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), establishing a new industry-academic collaboration to enhance the road safety features in Malaysia.

Through this new collaboration, APU and MIROS will work hand-in-hand in conducting research & development (R&D) activities to develop new technologies to enhance the level of read safety features and reduce fatalities on the roads. The MoU was signed between YBg Ir. Dr. Khairil Anwar Abu Kassim, Director General of MIROS and Dr. Hari Narayanan, our Vice Chancellor, witnessed by Datuk Suret Singh, Chairman of MIROS and Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Vinesh Thiruchelvam, our Deputy Vice Chancellor.

It is anticipated that MIROS will work closely with our Center of Research and Development in Internet of Things (CREDIT) led by Ir. Dr. Alvin Yap and the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CiE) that is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lawrence Arokiasamy. We look forward to put together the best engineering synergy among both parties to develop useful solutions for improving the nation’s overall road conditions through high-tech and innovative road safety features.
