Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) came alive with vibrant cultural displays and heartfelt messages as the Yemeni Student Community hosted a grand celebration of Yemen’s National Independence Day on 6th October 2024.
The event welcomed over 500 attendees, including distinguished guests such as businessmen, influencers, and members of the Yemeni Diplomatic Mission, led by the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Malaysia, His Excellency Dr Adel Mohamed Ali Ba Hamid.
Cultural Performances
The cultural programme was a vibrant showcase of Yemeni traditions and artistry, offering a heartfelt celebration of the country’s rich heritage.
The young and talented Zahrat Little Flowers performed a delightful dance that captivated the audience with their boundless energy and graceful movements, leaving a lasting impression.
A deeply moving poetry session added to the richness of the event, reflecting Yemen’s profound literary traditions and its enduring power to inspire.
On top of that, traditional Yemeni dances such as the Lahji and Mahraa brought the community together in shared rhythms and synchronised movements, serving as a beautiful symbol of unity and the enduring spirit of Yemeni culture.
Adding to the occasion’s significance, the theatrical performance in four parts became a heartfelt centerpiece, portraying Yemen’s struggles and aspirations in a way that deeply resonated with the audience.
