Welcoming Gathering For New International Students

After a long wait due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education had announced that international students of private universities will be permitted to enter Malaysia to pursue their tertiary studies. APU continuously strives to scale greater heights in delivering exceptional academic experiences, as well as providing a warm hospitality to all our students throughout their academic journey. The APU Arrivals Control Team has been working relentlessly to provide a positive impact to our international community by planning and arranging international students’ arrivals according to the updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). They ensure that our students receive the proper guidelines and support throughout the quarantine period.

To celebrate their release from quarantine, the APU Arrivals Control Team organises a Welcoming Gathering for New International Students which is conducted fortnightly for students who have completed their quarantine for each session. Our students come from various countries such as Indonesia, Pakistan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Yemen, Egypt, Tanzania, Seychelles, Djibouti, Oman, Zambia, and many more. The students are first given a comprehensive campus tour by our group of dedicated Student Ambassadors, showing them the campus to familiarise themselves with the new environment. They are then guided to the dining area for the gathering session, followed with a buffet of local cuisines.



The overall ambiance of the get-togethers is energetic and enjoyable as the charismatic personality of the emcee and the organisers ensures that it is a fun & interactive session. There are various segments, including a welcoming speech by the CEO of APU, Datuk Parmjit Singh, and our Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Hari Narayanan, meeting the Head of Schools, as well as an ice-breaking session with adherence to strict Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures in the campus.

It is amazing to see students returning to campus as we welcome the new students joining our community, embarking onto their new professional journey with APU.
