APU Ranks Top 4 in ASEAN and Top 2 in Malaysia

The Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU) has proudly ranked 4th in the AppliedHE Private University Ranking: ASEAN 2025, further cementing its position as one of the region’s leading educational institutions. This outstanding accomplishment also positions APU as the second-highest-ranked private university in Malaysia, underscoring its relentless commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global impact.

The rankings, released on 18th November 2024 by AppliedHE, a renowned Southeast Asia-based higher education ranking and rating agency, assess universities based on criteria that resonate with students and parents.

The evaluation prioritises Teaching and Learning (40%), Employability (15-20%), and other key indicators such as Research, Internationalisation, Community Engagement, and Institutional Reputation.

This is the second year the AppliedHE ASEAN rankings have been published in their current format, and they continue to gain recognition for their focus on quality and relevance.

Speaking about the rankings, Professor Kevin Downing, Chairperson of the AppliedHE Ranking Advisory Board, noted, “The AppliedHE rankings are a wonderful opportunity for ASEAN universities to showcase their excellence based on a highly relevant set of internationally recognised criteria.”

The recognition reflects APU’s dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its students and the wider community through a strategic focus on academic rigour, technological innovation, and global readiness.
