Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) continues to strengthen its position as a future-focused institution with a growing global presence in sustainability, ethical responsibility, and global citizenship, following the international recognition of one of its academics under the SPSC Ambassador Programme.
Ms Nor Nazeranah Omar Din, Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader of the Cluster of Management, Operations and Research at APU’s School of Business (SoB), has been honoured with the Annual Appreciation Silver Medal 2026 of the SPSC Ambassador Programme. The recognition acknowledges her contributions, commitment and sustained efforts in advancing sustainability awareness and supporting initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

The award, issued on 14 June 2026, marks the successful completion of two years of dedicated service by Ms Nor Nazeranah as an SPSC Ambassador. It recognises her consistent contributions in promoting sustainability awareness across academic and professional platforms, while reflecting the growing role of educators in embedding responsible values and sustainable practices into higher education.
The SPSC Ambassador Programme is a global pro-bono initiative by iso20400plus Ltd., a UK-based organisation. The term “pro-bono”, derived from the Latin phrase pro bono publico, means “for the public good”. Through this initiative, SPSC brings together individuals and organisations committed to promoting sustainability through knowledge-sharing, advocacy, education and community engagement.
SPSC stands for Sustainability Promoters & Sustainability Collaborators, or Sustainable Procurement & Supply Chain. The programme supports global awareness, education and engagement aligned with the UN SDGs, while encouraging professionals, educators and sustainability advocates to contribute meaningfully towards responsible development worldwide.
For APU, this recognition represents more than an individual milestone. It reflects the university’s wider institutional commitment to sustainability and its active role in preparing graduates to engage with real-world challenges through ethical, socially responsible and environmentally conscious practices.

As sustainability becomes an increasingly important global priority across industries, higher education institutions play a vital role in shaping future-ready graduates who understand the importance of responsible decision-making, sustainable business practices and long-term societal impact. APU’s continued involvement in global sustainability initiatives reinforces its commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically competent, but also equipped with the awareness and values needed to contribute positively to communities, industries and the planet.
Ms Nor Nazeranah’s recognition also aligns strongly with APU’s institutional vision and passion for embedding sustainability within its curriculum, research, community engagement and industry collaborations. Through academic leadership and global participation, APU continues to position itself among institutions actively contributing to international sustainability efforts.
Expressing her appreciation, Ms Nor Nazeranah said, “I am truly honoured and grateful to receive the Annual Appreciation Silver Medal 2026 from the SPSC Ambassador Programme. As an educator, I believe we have an important responsibility to inspire students to understand sustainability not as an optional value, but as an essential competency for their future careers. I hope to continue equipping APU students with the knowledge, mindset and sense of responsibility needed to become professionals who can contribute meaningfully to sustainable development.”
The recognition further affirms APU’s commitment to nurturing academic talent who actively contribute beyond the classroom. By supporting initiatives aligned with the UN SDGs, the university continues to play an important role in shaping graduates who are prepared to address complex global challenges and create positive impact in the industries and communities they serve.
Professor Dr Kashif Hussain, Senior Head of APU’s School of Business, said, “We are proud of Ms Nor Nazeranah’s achievement, which reflects not only her personal dedication, but also the School of Business’ commitment to advancing sustainability through education and engagement.”
“Through this recognition, APU reaffirms its commitment to nurturing responsible leaders who are capable of driving sustainable and ethical transformation across industries and communities. This is the kind of global-minded academic contribution that strengthens APU’s good name and reinforces our role as a university committed to shaping a better future,” concluded Prof Kashif.
