It was a great achievement for APU at the APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Awards) ceremony on Oct 16, for the continuous achievement for the past two years to be awarded as the “Best of Tertiary Student Project”. The APICTA program is organized by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and the National ICT Association of Malaysia (Pikom), which announced award winners and merit recipients in 18 categories at the MSC Malaysia APICTA Awards 2012 ceremony.
The awards programme is to provide a platform for innovators and entrepreneurs in the ICT sectors in the region to benchmark their products and to network. It is also aimed at stimulating economic & trade relations and technology transfer, providing companies with business matching opportunities and exposure to venture capitalists and investors, and increasing community awareness in ICT.
The APICTA winners and merit recipients were selected by a panel of judges consisting of local industry experts and ICT thought leaders. This is done to raise the quality level of pitches by participants and subsequently increase their chances of winning. Only the top 30% of the nominees will receive further coaching where their solutions are then tagged on to KPIs (key performance indicators) and processes to enable easier monitoring and support during the implementation process.
APU is looking forward to the 2013 challenge and will continuously be a platform for innovation and creative in the ICT sectors and set a benchmark.
