Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation’s (APU) School of Global Hospitality and Tourism (SoGHT) visited Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur by IHG for an industry immersion programme, gaining valuable exposure to hotel operations, hospitality practices, and career opportunities within the IHG Hotels & Resorts Group.
On 13 May 2026, lecturers and students from the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation’s (APU) School of Global Hospitality and Tourism (SoGHT) embarked on an enriching educational visit to Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur by IHG as part of an industry exposure initiative aimed at bridging academic learning with real-world hospitality practices.
The delegation was led by Mr Shazeel Ali Sardar Ali, Senior Lecturer at SoGHT, alongside Mr Kumaresu Murugasu @ Murugesi, Academic Leader, and Ms Siti Fariza Mohd Amin, Senior Lecturer, accompanied by students from the school.
Upon arrival, the group received a warm welcome from the hotel’s senior representatives, including Mr Jason Wong, Learning and Development Manager, Ms Teoh Yin Yin, Human Resource Manager, and Ms Jennifer Lim, Director of People & Culture.
Their gracious hospitality immediately created an engaging and professional learning atmosphere for the visitors.
The visit commenced with an insightful briefing on IHG Hotels & Resorts, the operations of Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur, and the evolving landscape of the hospitality industry.

Students were also introduced to internship opportunities and potential career pathways within the IHG Group, offering valuable exposure to the diverse prospects available in the global hospitality sector.
Following the presentation, participants were taken on an exclusive guided tour of the hotel, where they explored its sophisticated facilities, guest rooms, dining outlets, and key operational areas.
The immersive experience provided students with a deeper appreciation of luxury hospitality standards, hotel management practices, and the importance of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
One of the Hospitality and Tourism students, Mariam Shaista from Maldives, shared that she had a wonderful experience at Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur by IHG and described it as one of the most beautifully designed boutique hotels she had ever visited, complemented by exceptional staff hospitality.
She added that the visit had deepened her knowledge of the industry and inspired her strong interest in pursuing a university internship at the property.
Her friend, Fathima Rana from India, highlighted the hotel’s striking first impression, particularly its elegant premium tiling and carefully curated abstract artworks.
She reflected that the hotel tour had helped her understand how a luxury hotel operated in real life, especially in terms of guest service standards.
Fathima also shared that she had learned the importance of teamwork in delivering excellent hospitality, as well as how luxury hotels prioritised both guest comfort and personalised service experiences.
Truong Minh Phuc from Vietnam further described his stay at Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur by IHG as more than simply checking into a hotel, noting that it felt like being welcomed into a thoughtfully curated sanctuary.
He shared that every detail, from the warm and personalised service to the stylish ambience, created an experience that was effortlessly luxurious, genuinely memorable, and truly unforgettable.
