Driving Research and Innovation

Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has spearheaded various research initiatives through its AIDE (Artificial Intelligence for Diverse Education) project and the Digital Learning Hub (DLH). AIDE focuses on integrating emerging technologies like generative AI into education to enable personalized and inclusive learning experiences. Key ongoing studies under AIDE include the development of an AI competency framework for educators, the design of AI-enabled academic writing tools using human-centred design approaches, and the formulation of ethical guidelines for deploying AI in Asian educational contexts.

The DLH leads research on enhancing open, online, and augmented learning through digital innovation. Recent investigations have explored real-time versus self-paced asynchronous instruction, the use of virtual reality to foster imagination and emotional engagement, digital competency gaps among girls in developing countries, and the application of integrated frameworks to optimize student learning experiences.

Together, the AIDE and DLH initiatives reflect APU’s commitment to leveraging AI, VR, and data analytics to advance equitable, accessible, and
