ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The Foundation programme gives you an opportunity to sample your future areas of study. This helps you choose which Degree programme to pursue.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS |
SPM | • 5 Credits in at least 5 subjects at SPM level with a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); |
IGCSE/O-LEVELS | • 5 Credits (Grade C & above) in at least 5 subjects at IGCSE/O-Levels; |
UEC | • 3 Credits (Grade B & above) in at least 3 subjects in UEC. |
* Foundation in Computing (ODL) - 100% Online requires a Credit Pass in Mathematics
A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.
-Some Degree Programmes may require a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/IGCSE/O-Level or equivalent.
-Engineering Degree Programmes require a Credit in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry at SPM/IGCSE/O-Level or equivalent.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE
This APU Foundation in Computing (ODL) is specifically designed to provide:
- Theories and concepts to equip students to be competent and knowledgeable in their field of study.
- The ability to apply digital and numeracy skills to process information and interpret data in their field of study.
- Students with positive values and the ability to effectively communicate and function as a good team player.
- Students the ability to identify self-improvement opportunities and develop social responsibilities.
Semester 1 offers modules where students are introduced to the main skills areas of Language, Communication, Personal Skills, Numerical and IT Skills. Students are able to develop their soft skills that are essential for oral and written presentations of ideas and concepts as well as other skills which are essential for employability and lifelong learning.

The second semester exposes students further into the concepts of technology and principles of programming. With this knowledge, students are able to design and implement software solutions irrespective of platforms, language or application domain. Basic concepts of organization and its role will also be introduced, and their interpersonal skills will be further developed through public speaking.

The final semester provides students with fundamental knowledge and skills in areas of multimedia and technology which helps students to make an informed decision on their pathway in the area of study. Their mathematical knowledge and skills will be extended in this semester to prepare for degree study. Students will also have an opportunity to explore academic research, equipped with the necessary skills and techniques.

 | - The Foundation in Computing with ODL (Open & Distance Learning) allows students to learn from anywhere - this power of freedom is an ideal option for students who wish to have the freedom of choice in their learning.
- The delivery will consist of combination of online classes, meetings and consultation through Microsoft Teams, coupled with Asynchronous learning on APU’s Learning Management System.
