Proud Ambassadors Of The Bitgrit Campus Ambassador Programme

Two Data Analytics Students selected as Ambassadors of the Bitgrit Campus Ambassador Programme

We are simply overjoyed to announce yet another impressive achievement by our students!

Along with participants from all over the world, 2 of our students have been selected as Ambassadors in the Bitgrit Campus Ambassador Programme. This programme aims to build a global community of students, professionals, and experts under one roof, to democratise the value of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Under the guidance of Mr. Mafas Raheem and Dr. Preethi Subramanian from the School of Computing, Veeloshana A/P Raman Silam Buselven and Clement Tai Kah Mian, students majoring in Computer Science with a specialism in Data Analytics were given the opportunity to lead and congregate a community, organise events as well as building a good rapport with industry professionals during their one-year tenure, which began in August 2021.

The process of the selection was composed of multiple tasks, each adding immense value to the skillset of the ambassador selected. The Bitgrit committees are in search of candidates with demonstrated expertise in leading groups, ability to communicate across different channels, willingness to work across multiple verticals and the eagerness to take on new challenges, all of which they have found in the qualities of our students.

The Bitgrit Campus Ambassador Program provides a variety of benefits to our students, including Bitgrit Meetups, where leading Data Science professionals are invited to deliver talks aimed at skill development in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain technology, IoT, Security, and other emerging technologies, competitions, as well as various forums related to Data Science and Analytical Thinking. Additionally, the overall top-performing Ambassador will receive paid internship opportunities which may lead to job placements upon graduation.

Mr. Mafas commented, “The Bitgrit Campus Ambassadorship is a unique achievement in a university student’s life. Students must try to get this as it offers some unique pieces of experience useful for work and life.

Bitgrit Inc. is an Asia-based networking platform for data scientists that develop mechanisms to optimise AI and better integrate it in today’s society. Founded in Tokyo in 2017, Bitgrit is a multinational start-up that houses a strong community of over 25,000 data scientists worldwide.

Aside from building a global community of data scientists in academia which support an open exchange of knowledge and ideas in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, the programme also emphasises the active participation of selected Campus ambassadors and believes that actions involved in the implementation of the programme will lead to the promotion of leadership, community building, and information science know-how while contributing to the individual's professional career.

By opening the world of data science and providing more active venues for students and corporations to interact, we hope to see the foundation of community-based AI creation orchestrated democratically.
