Celebrating Digital Learning Festival 2021

A Small Step Toward Digital Learning, A Giant Leap Forward For Our Academicians And Students.

As the rocket of education switches its path in search of the perfect, all-encompassing online education blueprint, the APU Digital Learning Hub (DLH), as the astronaut, has been making great strides in navigating our students to the final destination that is quality learning experiences.

On 09 December 2021, the DLH held its first-ever Digital Learning Festival, honouring educators and academicians for their dedication and creativity towards digital learning at APU.

The Digital Learning Hub is a newly established entity within APU since November 2020 with the motto ‘Collaborative Transformation’; intended to empower educators through training and supporting them in the new era of digital learning and virtual classrooms.

In other words, the DLH is putting the focus on students and their acquired skills by the end of their programmes, all while supporting educators alike.

Prof. Dr. Abtar Kaur, on behalf of the DLH, extended her gratitude and appreciation toward the Management and Schools, who have contributed and support the entity in many different ways.

“The Leadership team especially Datuk Parmjit, Dr. Hari Narayanan, Prof. Vinesh, and Mr. Pardeep has given us the encouragement and trust in establishing the hub in a very short period of time. Not to forget our esteem Head of Schools for their high collaboration in ensuring digital learning are implemented effectively as well as everyone who has contributed in making this a success directly or indirectly.”

To bring Digital Learning to new the next level, the collaboration with EasyGenerator has facilitated our asynchronous learning process more efficient for both educators and learners. The CEO of EasyGenerator, Mr. Kasper Spiro, was kind enough to explain how their company is helping us break through the world of e-learning in the recorded session.

By appointing EasyGenerator as a learning platform, our educators are able to create, collaborate and design impactful learning content. More appealing activities and gamification content can be put in place, hence churning the creative juices of both lecturer and students. Various texts, images, videos, and other forms of content can also be used to make lesson learning more interesting and interactive.

Mr. Jonathan Kovilpillai, the programme manager of Digital Learning, highlighted that the onboarding results were truly astonishing. Just in 2 weeks, we already have 103 staff onboard, and 104 courses created on the platform.

A special shoutout to Prof. Dr. R. Logeswaran, who have created over 16 courses just in the frame of 10 days.

With EasyGenerator providing a user-friendly interface and supplying a multitude of resources for e-learning, this revolutionary all-in-one platform will satisfy both educator and learner by making asynchronous learning easier and more productive.

A Huge Congratulations to the backbone of DLH which consists of Prof. Dr. Abtar Kaur, Mr. Jonathan Kovilpillai, Mr. Jahanvir Darius Singh Chall, Ms. Yvonne Low Wye Yie, Ms. Aisyamariam, Ms. Nithyadevi A/P Ganesan and together with the supports from all Digital Learning Architects for the successful festival.

With all entities willing to put forth their collective cutting-edge technologies and software to fuel our running rocket of education, our digital learning guide is now clearer than ever.
