The bowling alley at Endah Parade was alive with energy as our staff came together for the highly anticipated APU Bowling Tournament. This bowling tournament held on 14th December 2023 showcased not just skill, but the vibrant spirit of unity among our diverse community.
Spearheaded by Prof. Ir. Eur. Ing. Ts. Dr. Vinesh Thiruchelvam and arranged by Mr. Saifullizan Abdul Wahab & team, the 3-hour tournament drew in 57 participants from various departments, each eager to showcase their bowling prowess, for some, aiming for the grand prize.
Divided into 19 teams, the competition was fierce, yet the friendly atmosphere among our colleagues was clear. Laughter filled the air as everyone joked and cheered each other on while playing, creating a lively scene with the sounds of pins falling and occasional victorious shouts.
Finally as the scores tallied, Team Unbowlivable emerged victorious, securing 1st place. Ms. Fatin Hazwani, Dr. Hafinaz Hasniyanti, and Mr. Muhammad Fadhirul showcased exceptional teamwork and skill, claiming the top spot amid fierce competition.

“AWESOME!” was the best word to describe the tournament as expressed by many who joined this event.
“It was fun to have top management mingle around and play with us. They all rock!!!” exclaimed Mr. Fadhirul from Team Unbowlivable.
“The casual and enjoyable nature of a bowling event creates a more relaxed atmosphere among staff and boosted staff morale too. It’s fun watching the camaraderie spirit of our staff happily juggling across bowling lanes to check out each other’s bowling scores, well it’s still a competition anyway.” Ms. Wendy from Team Alleycats commented.
“As this round of bowling tournament are a mixture of different department, it’s great opportunity to get to know APU colleague from other department while releasing stress from work.” Ms. Fatin highlighted.
Reflecting on the event, Prof Vinesh expressed his delight at the overwhelming participation and the remarkable display of teamwork and sportsmanship. "It is not easy planning and coordinating events as such, but the APU Strikefest Bowling tournament went very well thanks to all those who participated and the blessing from the APU Senior Leadership for approving it."
Congratulations to all participants for making the APU Bowling Tournament a resounding success! Your passion, sportsmanship, and camaraderie have truly made this event an unforgettable highlight of our academic year.
