APU Academicians Triumph at the Asia Pacific International Conference on Quality of Life


Academicians from the School of Business (SoB) at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) were honoured with the Best Paper Awards at the 8th Asia Pacific International Conference on Quality of Life (AQoL2024 Izmir).

Associate Professor Dr Jugindar Singh and Senior Lecturer Ts Dr Noraini Ahmad received “The Best Paper” award for their work titled “Dimensional Impact of Emotional Intelligence on Creativity and Innovation in Malaysia's Multigenerational Workforce.” This accolade included a cash prize of RM 3,000, shared among the four co-authors.

Senior Lecturer Ms Nooraneda Mutalip Laidey secured the 2nd Runner-up award for her paper on “Challenges Faced by Women in Progressing their Career in the Tourism Industry in Maldives.” She, along with her co-author, received a cash prize of RM 2,000.

These achievements were announced at AQoL2024 Izmir, which was held at Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, Turkiye, from May 22 to 24, 2024.

The WOS-indexed AQoL2024 Izmir, co-hosted by Dokuz Eylul University, was organised by the Association of Malaysian Environment-Behaviour Researchers (AMER) in collaboration with the Centre for Environment-Behaviour Studies (cE-Bs) at the College of Built Environment, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.

The conference attracted a total of 31 papers from authors representing 12 countries, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkiye, China, Thailand, Australia, Maldives, Oman, Philippines, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, and West Africa.

The Best Paper:

Veronica Anak Anyot, Noraini Ahmad, Jugindar Singh Kartar Singh from APU, and Najiya Alhajri from the Business Studies Department, University Technology of Applied Science, Muscat, Oman.

2nd Runner-Up:

Nooraneda Mutalip Laidey from APU, and Aishath Imthinan from the Housing Development Corporation, Hulhumale, Maldives.
