We are pleased to announce that our team of students from APU had successfully qualified for Semi-Finals of the Deloitte Risk Intelligence Challenge Trophy Malaysia 2014. The team named Risk Maestros, comprised of three Final Year students from the School of Accounting, Finance and Quantitative Studies (SAFIQS) and the School of Engineering (SoE): Sonia Indra Simon, Mohamad Helmi bin Ramli and Dennis Albert Jimwaga.
The Deloitte Risk Intelligence Challenge is an annual event organised by one of the Big 4 professional services firms, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited. In the preliminary round, participating teams from Malaysian universities were required to submit essays based on the given scenarios. Team Risk Maestros from APU stood out as one of the Top 8 teams to be qualified into the Semi Finals, alongside with 7 other teams from Multimedia University, Taylor’s University, University of Malaya, University Tunku Abdul Rahman, HELP University and Tunku Abdul Rahman University College.
The Semi-Finals of the challenge will be held at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus on the 25th of November 2014 (Tuesday). Participants will be required to conduct a presentation based on the given case study, whereas in the Finals of the competition, participating teams will undergo a debate challenge. The champion will be entitled to a RM5,000 cash prize and will be representing Malaysia to be qualified for the regional challenge, which is to be held in 2015.
