We are pleased to announce that 2 teams of our APU students had successfully achieved the 1st Runner Up and the 4th Place at the recently concluded UTP – HAX National Hacking Competition 2014, which was held on the 14th and 15th November 2014 at Universiti Teknologi Petronas. The competition, organised by Universiti Teknologi Petronas, saw the participation of 37 teams from Malaysian public and private universities. The operating standards of the competition was based on the Cyberlympic Hacking Competition under the EC –Council.
In the competition, participants were required to scan, test, hack, defend and use creative and constructive minds to secure a system. By demonstrating high levels of teamwork, creativity and innovation, team Yolo from APU which was comprised of 3 members: Nicholas Ian Nonis, Choong Chih Xien, and Goh Eu Gene, successfully “hacked” their way to success by securing the 1st Runner Up of the competition. On the other hand, Team EZ, comprised of Ahmed Nabil Al-Eryani, Alexandr and Marat, achieved a remarkable 4th Place in the challenge.

It was a good job done by the students, who underwent a one-month intensive training by their mentors and their seniors. They fought hard for 8 hours in the competition; and we are absolutely proud of their achievements and success.
