APU Debate Team Achieves 1st Runner-Up at 10th National Novice Debating Championship 2015

It is with great pleasure to announce that the APU Debate Team successfully bagged the 1st Runner Up prize at the 10th National Novice Debating Championship 2015, organised by UT MARA Debating Society which spanned from Friday, 20 March 2015 to Sunday, 22 March 2015. The championship took place in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam.

The competition,  made exclusively for novices and young debaters,  attracted the participation of 86 teams from all over Malaysia. The Asian Parliamentary Format was used, in which each team consisted of 3 debaters in each team, dubbed government and opposition with motions released 30 minutes prior to the debate. 

The APU Debate Team, comprising Nitya Uma, Raihanur Rahman and Nicholas Lim, demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm and perseverance throughout the preliminary stages, and made their way through the Grand Finalists of the tournament. They were eventually awarded with the 1st Runner Up prize at the end of the competition.
